History

João Pereira Guimarães Lda. is a family company, created it 1956 by the owner that gave it his name.
​
Inicially located in the center of Oporto, it started its path in the textile industry making strong knittings, made of wool and cotton, as well as confections.
​
In 1965 moved to its actual location, in Leça do Balio (Matosinhos). This building has grown and has been adapted through the years, along with the necessities. During many years, besides the ketten knittings and confection, the company also made circular knittings.
​
Nowadays João Pereira Guimarães Lda. only works with artificial and synthetical yarns, that weaves inside its doors. Our products can be used in technical and functional textiles, as well as in clothing.
​
The management of the company still runs in the family, going in its third generation.
